Samsung has launched a new budget variant of the Galaxy Core Prime smartphone called Galaxy Core Prime VE, it can be seen in the official Samsung India e-store. The smartphone sports a 4.5-inch WVGA with resolution of 480×800 pixels and PLS (plane-to-line-switching) TFT display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.
The Galaxy Core Prime VE sports a 5MP rear camera with auto focus and a 2MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Touchwiz over it. The Galaxy Core Prime VE is similar in dimensions to its elder sibling measuring 130.8×67.9×8.8mm and comes with matte finish back panel and metal sides.
The smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh battery, which comes with a Ultra Power Saving mode and gives 1.2 days of standby time with just 10 percent battery. The Core Prime VE comes with connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It comes equipped with sensors like accelerator and proximity sensor.

The Galaxy Core Prime VE is available in three colors of White, Black and Grey or Cream colors and is priced at Rs, 8,600 on Samsung India official e-store website. It is presently listed as out of stock and an option to get update on availability is present on the website. There was another budget smartphone launched by Samsung earlier this month called the Galaxy J2 which is their entry level 4G enabled smartphone priced similarly at Rs. 8,490.
