Samsung has launched their latest smartphone in the A series called Galaxy A9 in China. The Galaxy A9 can be called a premium smartphone because of the metal frame and the glass body design which is taken from the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6. Not just the design but the specifications are good enough for it to be listed as a premium device. There were leaks about the specs of the Galaxy A9 which were revealed recently.
The Galaxy A9 can be called a phablet because it sports a huge 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution with 2.5D curved glass and a pixel density of 267ppi. Even with the huge display the size has been kept in control thanks to the minimal 2.4mm display bezel.
The Galaxy A9 is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor (renamed 620SoC) clocking at 1.8GHz with Adreno 510 GPU. It is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage expandable using microSD card up to 128GB. The microSD card slot is a separate one and there are two SIM card slots which is a great feature missing in recently released smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 sports a 13MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash and aperture of f/1.9, it has Optical Image stabilizations as well. There is a 8MP front-facing camera with different modes like wide selfie, self-portrait, palm selfie mode etc. The Home button is present below the display and it houses the Fingerprint sensor as well, you can launch the camera app by double pressing the home button. The Fingerprint Sensor comes with Samsung Pay support.
The Galaxy A9 comes with 4000mAh battery which is welcome change from Samsung to power the huge display at offer. It also includes Fast Charging which makes the charging faster. The device runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OS. It comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+, NFC. The Galaxy A9 is available in White, Pink and Gold colors, the pricing and availability of the device have not been revealed yet.
