We have been hearing rumors about a very thin Samsung Galaxy Smartphone in the works. And finally, today we do receive some confirmed official information on the Smartphone, titled the Samsung Galaxy A8. The Smartphone got listed on Samsung’s official website for China.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 has not been announced publicly yet, and we expect it to happen soon. However, the online listing provides us come official note on details of the Smartphone such as its hardware specifications, which we are going to share today.
Dubbed the thinnest Samsung Smartphone ever, the Galaxy A8 is just 5.9mm thin. And that what exactly Samsung is going to talk all about the Smartphone. The hardware specifications speaks mid range, with a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 processor which is both a octa core chipset and 64-bit enabled. The processor is provided with 2 GB of RAM and other hardware specs include a 5.7 inch Full HD display, Adreno 405 GPU, 16 MP primary and 5 MP secondary camera. The device is powered by a 3050 mAh battery.
The internal storage options are either 16 or 32 GB depending on the variant. However, external storage on both these devices can be expanded up to 128 GB. The Galaxy A8 also packs in a fingerprint sensor.
The device weighs in at 151 grams and is available in black, white and gold color options. The Galaxy A8 runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software on top of the latest Touchwiz UI, which can be found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Even though we found details about this Smartphone on Samsung’s Chinese website, the device may get a launch pretty soon in other countries as well. In India, we expect the Samsung Galaxy A8 to launch on July 19th.
