Samsung has announced their road map for the A series devices coming up with three new devices the Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 which come with new and exiting additions to the A series. The new additions to the three devices will be fingerprint sensors, OIS enabled camera along with Samsung Pay’s magnetic strip card emulation which requires the fingerprint sensor.
Let us look at all the three devices in the line up with the top end being the A7 and then the A5 and A3 at the bottom. At first glance of the images released by Samsung we can make out the small and trimmed out bezels making the devices looks sleek and premium with the metal body to support it.
Commenting on the launch, JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Business said,
Galaxy A7 comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor supported by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable using microSD card up to 128GB. IT comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and OIS, it also sports a 5MP front facing camera both having bigger F1.9 lens for both the rear and front cameras.
There is a fingerprint sensor too inserted into the Home button, it comes with support for MST technology (Samsung PAy), Smasung KNOX, S-Voice and connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+ (for tracking health data, fitness, etc), USB 2.0, NFC (UICC, eSE). It is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery with fast-charging support as well.
Galaxy A5 is the second smartphone in the list which sports a slightly smaller 5.-inch Super AMOLED dispaly with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core processor and supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB using microSD card.
It runs on android 5.1 Lollipop as well, It comes with fingerprint sensor on the Home button along with support for MST technology(Samsung Pay), Samsung KNOX, S-Voice. It sports the same camera set up as the Galaxy A7. The galaxy A5 sports the following connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+ (for tracking health data, fitness, etc), USB 2.0, NFC (UICC, eSE). IT is powered by a 2900mAh battery with fast-charging support.
Galaxy A3 is the third smartphone which sports a smaller 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB. It sports the same camera set up as the A5 and A7 with OIS making it impressive.
It comes with Fingerprint sensor on the Home button along with Samsung Pay and Samsung KNOX, S-Voice. It has similar connectivity options as the other two devices. It is powered by a 2,300mAh battery.
All three phones will be launched in China in mid-December 2015. The availability of the devices in the global market has not been confirmed along with the pricing.
