Panasonic India has launched their new P-series smartphone, Panasonic P101 in India on April 17th. The phone features the new 18:9 aspect ratio and also 4G VoLTE support. The entry-level smartphone will be available at Sangeetha Mobiles.
The phone sports a 5.45 inch IPS LCD Big View Display, with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The screen has a tall 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the quad-core Mediatek 6739WA chipset, while the graphics is handled by the PowerVR GE8100 GPU. The processor is clocked at 1.3 GHz, while the GPU maxes out at 650 MHz. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.
The P101 has an 8 MP autofocus camera on the rear. The front facing camera is a 5 MP shooter with an LED flash. The rear camera is positioned to the top left accompanied by an LED flash.
Commenting on the launch of Panasonic P101, Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India said,
“In order to meet the needs of the trendy young users, we are now focusing on 18:9 aspect ratio Big View display smartphones and P101 is our second offering in the market with the same at an aggressive affordable price.”
The phone has a 2500 mAh battery and includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS and FM Radio for connectivity. The sensors included in the phone are proximity sensor, compass, accelerometer and ambient light sensor. The phone weighs 145 gms and is 9.1 mm thick.
The Panasonic P101 is priced at INR 6999 and is available starting from 17th April through offline retailer, Sangeetha Mobiles. Additionally, the phone comes with launch offers from Idea Cellular, which will provide 60 GB data to existing and new subscribers. Users will get additional 10 GB data with 28 days validity upon recharging with Rs 199. There’s also a cashback offer for Idea users.
