OPPO is calling its newly launched F1 Plus as the Selfie Expert. There’s more than a single reason for that, with the first one being that the company has included a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
Yes, the camera on the front seems to be a better one than the camera on the back of the device. With time, we have seen selfie camera getting better with the growing craze for selfie captures, but OPPO seems to have taken it too seriously to pack an ISOCELL sensor on the front with the 16-megapixel resolution and a large sensor size to get naturally brighter selfies. Here’s something about both the cameras of the OPPO F1 Plus.
According to OPPO, the 16-megapixel camera has a 1/3.1-Inch Image Sensor that is capable of taking in 4x the incoming light when compared to other standard smartphone cameras. The sensor is attached with a F/2.0 aperture lens that has a wide angle, and this is capable of capturing wider and brighter selfie captures.

What is ISOCELL technology? Here’s what its maker, Samsung, says about it.
ISOCELL technology forms a physical barrier between neighboring pixels – isolating the pixel. This isolation enables more photons to be collected from the micro-lens and absorbed into the correct pixel’s photodiode minimizing undesired electrical crosstalk between pixels and allowing expanded full well capacity (FWC).
What that means, in this case, is that the selfies that are captured with the camera on OPPO F1 Plus will have a sharper and richer selfie, and you don’t always have just to see the whitened and beautified image that takes away all the natural details in the picture.
Beautify 4.0 – A very subjective feature to discuss, and every user can not take the advantages of it. The beautification is a personal choice mostly because some might want to have a flawless picture even though that might make it a little artificial at looks while some would prefer it to be as natural as it can.
The app also has Selfie Panorama feature for those who feel that the wide angle lens is still not enough to have everyone in the frame.
Why so much to focus on the front camera? Because, this is one of those phones that you might want to have if you are fond of selfies, or are someone who still does a lot of video calls with distant friends or family members.
The rear camera is a standard 13-megapixel shooter that you would usually see on most of the smartphones these days. It comes with the F/2.2 aperture and the LED flash along with a soft light. The rear camera has a Phase detection Autofocus system, and it is capable of recording 4K videos.
The front-facing camera is capable of recording 1080p videos, but that is still a fixed focus camera so you won’t be able to define what to focus on, though, the video quality is quite decent.
We are soon going to do a full review of the cameras of the F1 Plus, but till then, check out what else is good about the smartphone – Best features of OPPO F1 Plus.
