Samsung has started pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in US and Canada. But from the pre-order details in Canada we can see that the the Exynos version is being released and not the Snapdragon 820 SoC variant which will be available from March 11th. In US the Galaxy S7 handsets are available with the Snapdragon Processor irrespective of the carrier you choose.
Samsung has mentioned that there will be two variants of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge one running on Snapdragon 820 SoC and the other on Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset, we all know that US will be getting the Snapdragon variant as seen in the Galaxy S6. You wont be able to buy the Snapdragon 820 powered Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge in Canada and other countries except for US and China is what we know for now.
The Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch quadHD display while the S7 Edge sports bigger 5.5-inch display with all the other specs being similar except for the bigger battery in the S7 Edge. Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come with two processor variants Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. Both devices sport a 12MP BRITCELL rear camera.
So for all the fans who were waiting to buy the latest Galaxy s7 or Galaxy S7 Edge running on Snapdragon 820 SoC in countries other than US and China, you have disappointing news as you will have to settle with the Exynos 8890 SoC powered handset instead.
