It was almost confirmed that the OnePlus 5 is going to be launched on June 20th but now we have a final confirmation from the company as the OnePlus Store has a dedicated page with the note “Focus on what matters”, which indicates towards the dual-lens camera setup on the device and that should let the user focus on the object and blur the background, which is one of the regular features for such a camera combination.
The page mentions that this will be an online event like it was previously and it also talks about the Pop-up events that OnePlus is going to hold in some major cities. On the same day of the launch, at 7:00 p.m. in New York, the first pop-up event will be held and the co-founder of the company, Carl Pei will be there along with YouTuber Marques Brownlee.
OnePlus 5 launch event details
- 20th June 2017
- 12:00 PM EDT (9:30 PM Indian Time)
The other places mentioned apart from New York for the Pop-up events to happen are London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere, Turku, and Copenhagen.
We aren’t told anything about the official launch in India, though that should be in the first cycle itself as OnePlus isn’t delaying the launches for the Indian market in the recent times.
So far, the rumors and certain leaks show that the phone is going to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and there is a Dual-lens camera setup on the back. One of the company officials shared a picture that showed the phone to be a bit smaller than the predecessor OnePlus 3, which might be because of the reduction in size with the bezels getting slimmer.
Stay tuned as it is about a couple of weeks from now when we get to see the device getting officially launched.
Sounds pretty exciting!
waiting for it!!
