OnePlus has been quite silent on the next smartphone in their portfolio this time, but that doesn’t mean the leaks and rumors won’t happen since OnePlus 3 was rumored for quite some time, and now, we are seeing a leak, straight from AnTuTu Benchmark’s database.
Now, coming to the actual leak, here’s what we know and what we had already expected to see packed into the OnePlus 3 – Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. We knew this was coming, right? A flagship this year not coming with the flagship chipset from Qualcomm, might be a surprise. So, as expected, it is Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM internally.
With the display, OnePlus isn’t thinking to take the leap as the company might stick to a 1080p display, which isn’t a bad choice after all. A Quad HD resolution makes the display sharper and better, but it does drain the battery faster and a 1080p display isn’t so bad in the end.
The device carries a model number A3000 and we expect the screen size to be the same as it was for the previous two OnePlus flagships – 5.5-inch. The internal storage is shown as 32GB but there is no information on the availability of a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
What else? the camera combination too is known now and comes as no surprise as the OnePlus 3 is coming with a 16-megapixel rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The device will have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with OxygenOS, the custom ROM from OnePlus. It will be well interesting to see how OnePlus tweaks the OS and its features to take advantage of it, or make them hidden to keep the OxygenOS flavor intact.
We earlier had known that the OnePlus 3 launch is set for June 2016, which is about a quarter from now, and other news that was flowing around was that the company is looking to give the design a complete overhaul. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
