After multiple leaks, Motorola has finally announced their Android One smartphones, the Motorola one and Motorola One Power at IFA 2018, in Berlin. The two phones from Motorola come with a notched display and dual rear cameras.
Both the phones come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which resides inside the Moto dimple and are coated with P2i water-repellant nanocoating. The phones are promised to get the Android 9.0 Pie update as well as Android Q update.
Motorola One
The Motorola One sports a 5.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen, with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. A 2.5D curved glass covers the 18.5:9 display. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon 625 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB using a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie.
The Motorola One has a 13 MP primary rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and a secondary 2 MP camera with f/2.4 aperture, which is used for capturing depth information for portrait shots. To the front, it has an 8 MP selfie camera.
The Motorola One has a 3000 mAh battery which supports Motorola’s TurboCharging. For connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, 802.11 ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS.
Motorola One Power
The Motorola One Power, on the other hand, features a larger 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 2246×1080 pixels. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 636 chipset with Adreno 509 GPU powers the smartphone. It comes in both 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage variant, and a 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage variant, both of which support storage expansion up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo which is upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie
As for the cameras, the Motorola One Power has a 16 MP primary camera and a secondary 5 MP camera, with an LED flash. There’s also an 8 MP selfie camera on the front.
The Motorola One Power is fueled by a gigantic 5000 mAh battery with TurboPower support. For connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS and GLONASS.
Pricing and Availability of Motorola One and One Power
The Motorola One comes in Black and White colors. The phone is priced at EUR 299 and will be available in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific from September.
The Motorola One Power, on the other hand, comes in Black, Gold and White colors and will be available starting from October 2018. The company hasn’t announced the pricing of the Motorola One Power.
