Motorola has officially scheduled an event on February 26th which is during the time of the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona. Motorola didn’t announce anything at MWC 2016 last year. However, it introduced the Moto Z-series at IFA back in September 2016. It looks like we might witness the new Moto G Series smartphones at the event on February 26th. However, it’s a bit early for the Moto G5 and G5 Plus handsets as they get launched in Q2 or Q3 every year so we might have to wait for a while before drawing conclusions.
Moving along, the teaser image just shows us a Motorola smartphone with slim bezels to the sides and narrow on top and bottom. The phone is expected to have a metal unibody design which is the first time for the G-series smartphone. We had seen a similar render surfacing in China early last week indicating the G5 & G5 Plus launch.
According to rumors, the Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.5-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs 3GB/4GB RAM with a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The device will run on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
In the camera department, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. It also has a Fingerprint sensor on board for extra security, Front-ported loudspeaker. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. A 3080mAh battery with Turbocharging on board.
The Motorola announcement is scheduled for February 26th at 4:30 PM CET (9:00 PM IST). Stay tuned for more details.
IMO, MOTO G5 & Plus should have 5″ & 5.5″ displays respectively with SD SoC, and other specs same in both! 🙂
