Motorola has launched their smartphone in the Z-series, the Motorola Moto Z3, today. The smartphone comes with support for Moto Mods, a feature which the company has been supporting for three whole years. The new smartphone now has a new 5G Mod support which works on Verizon‘s 5G Network.
The 5G Moto Mod packs in a 2000 mAh battery. The Moto Z3 would the first smartphone with access to Verizon’s 5G network in select areas. The company is said to have partnered with Qualcomm to achieve this feat by utilizing the X50 modem found on the 835 and millimeter wave components.
Motorola Moto Z3
The Motorola Moto Z3 sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 takes care of the screen’s protection.
Processor, RAM & Storage
Powering the phone is the yester generation Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU handling all the graphics. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, with an option to expand the storage up to 256 GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Cameras
As for the cameras, the Motorola Moto Z3 uses a dual 12 MP camera setup on the back with a one being a standard RGB sensor when the second one is a Monochrome sensor. Both the cameras have an aperture of f/2.0 and a pixel size of 1.25um. They come with Phase detection AutoFocus as well as laser autofocus for faster focusing. The cameras offer features such as Zero Shutter Lag and Correlated Color Temperature. The dual cameras are used for depth sensing for AI photos as well as for features such as Cinemagraphs.
To the front, the phone comes with an 8 MP camera which has an aperture of f/2.0 and an 84° wide field of view. It has a pixel size of 1.12um.
Miscellaneous
The Motorola Moto Z3 comes with a 3000 mAh battery which supports Motorola’s TurboCharging. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. For audio, the phone features a front port loudspeaker, 4-far-field microphones, and a USB Type C audio. It has support for 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 LE, NFC, and GPS.
The Motorola Moto Z3 is made of Gorilla Glass on both, the front and the back and has 6000-series aircraft grade aluminum frame. The phone has a Water repellent nano-coating on it, for protecting it from water splashes. The phone weighs 156 gms and is only 6.75mm thin.
Pricing and Availability of Motorola Moto Z3
The Motorola Moto Z3 comes only in Ceramic Black color. The phone is priced at USD 480 (INR 32,940) or can also be purchased on contract at a monthly charge of USD 20, for a period of 24 months. The phone is available exclusively on Verizon starting from August 16. The pricing of the 5G Moto Mod hasn’t announced yet but will be available in the US in early 2019.

5G moto mod looks promising which capable to use verizon 5G while Moto Z3 looks good decent but Snapdragon 835 make it little bit far from race while other spec’s like camera & turbo charging support is plus points.
