Motorola India has finally brought the sixth iteration of their most awaited mid-range series of smartphones, the G-series, to India, today. The company held a launch event in Delhi, where it launched the Motorola Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play. The Moto G6 comes with an 18:9 display, dual rear cameras and a glass back.
The Moto G6 sports a 5.7-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The 18:9 display is protected under Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 506 handling the graphics. It comes in two RAM and storage options – 3 GB RAM, 32 GB Storage and 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage. Thankfully, the Moto G6 comes with a dedicated microSD card slot using which users can upgrade their storage up to an extra 256 GB. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
As for the cameras, the Moto G6 comes with a dual camera setup on the back. The 12 MP primary shooter comes with a f/1.8 aperture and Phase Detection Autofocus, while the secondary 5 MP depth sensing camera comes with an f/2.2 lens. To the front, the G6 comes with a 16 MP front facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. The selfie camera comes with stickers. Both the front and the rear cameras can shoot videos at 1080p resolution.
The Moto G6’s battery is a 3000 mAh affair with Motorola’s proprietary 15W TurboCharge. To make things even better, the Moto G6 comes with a USB Type C port, which is a quite a rare sight in this price segment. As for the connectivity, the Dual SIM smartphone comes with 4G VoLTE, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS, BDS.
The Moto G6 features a front mounted fingerprint scanner using which you can perform one-button gestures for accessing home, recents menu and back key. For added security, the phone also features Facial recognition for unlocking your smartphone. The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack with a Dolby Audio. It also comes with usual splash resistance.
Pricing and Availability of Motorola Moto G6
The Motorola Moto G6 comes in Black, Silver and Deep Indigo colors. The Moto G6’s pricing starts at INR 13,999 and will available exclusively on Amazon and across all Moto Hubs, in India. The phone will go on sale starting tonight at 12 am.
