Motorola has announced two new smartphones to add to its lineup, the anticipated Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid Maxx 2 as well. The Droid 2 is the successor to the Motorola Droid Turbo was launched in October last year. We have seen the recent release of Moto X Style and the Droid Turbo 2 seems like an enhanced version of the X style, following the same design pattern on the back camera setup.
Motorola has mentioned that the Droid Turbo 2 comes with Moto ShatterShield which makes it the world’s first shatter proof display, it sports a 5.4-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and pixel density of 540 ppi and Moto ShatterShield which guaranteed the display not to shatter for up to 4 years. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU clubbed with 3GB LPDDR4 RAM.

The Droid Turbo 2 comes in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB which can be expandable up to 2TB using microSD card. The device comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which can be upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow It comes with 21MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture with 4K recording option. It comes with 5MP front facing camera with similar aperture of f/2.0 and an 87-degree wide-angle lens having 1.4um pixels. The device is smaller than the Moto X style measuring 149.8 x 78 x 7.6 to 9.2 mm (due to the curved body) and weighs 169 grams in weight.
It comes with 4G LTE / 3G, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC connectivity features. The Droid Turbo 2 runs on a 3760 mAh battery which comes with QI Wireless charging and Turbo Charging option as well. It will be available in four color or pattern variants Black Soft Grip, White Soft Grip, Grey Ballistic Nylon and Black Pebbled Leather, these can further be customized using Moto Maker. The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is available off contract from Verizon for $624 and at $26 per month with a contract.
