Motorola and Verizon had unveiled the much awaited Motorola Droid Turbo 2 at the event along with one another device called Motorola Droid Maxx 2 which is nothing but a re-branded Moto X Play which was launched internationally but was not available in US. It comes into the market as an upper mid-range device which will be carrying the Droid series branding restricted to the US exclusively with Verizon.
The Droid Maxx 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080p resolution similar to the Moto X Play and comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It carries the same design pattern as the Droid Turbo 2 with plastic patterned back panel which can be inter changed with five options to match your liking. One thing which is a let down is the lack of Moto Maker option for the Moto Maxx 2 which is available for other Moto devices like the Moto X Style Pure Edition, Moto X Play and even the Droid Turbo 2 which was unveiled at the same event.
The device is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which can be expanded using microSD card up to 128GB. One of the main features of the device is the camera set up, it sports a 21MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash having f/2.0 aperture and Full HD video recording, the front camera is a 5MP shooter. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which can be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow similar to the Droid Turbo 2.

The Droid Maxx 2 is available in Black with Deep Sea Blue Back and White with Winter White Back colors. The Droid Maxx 2 is priced at $384 off contract and $16 per month exclusively with Verizon. It will be available in online and offline stores from October 29th similar to the Droid Turbo 2.
