The successor to the Moto Z Play smartphone is officially launched in India, as Lenovo makes the Moto Z2 Play official with the same concept as earlier – support for Moto Mods. The smartphone is priced at Rs. and there is a bunch of accessories named Moto Mods that are going to be available separately for those who wanted to make the experience better.
A metal unibody design is what you can see on the Z2 Play and along with that, a Moto Z series user might notice that there is no big difference in the size and thickness. The Moto Z2 Play comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and internally, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor clocking at 2.2 GHz, which is supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage options. You can expand the storage by adding a MicroSD card and there is a support for up to 2TB.
The front has a design quite similar to the Moto G5 Plus with a fingerprint sensor present below the display area. On the back, there is a bump for the camera because the entire profile for the device is a slim one but the camera has a large sensor leading to this increase in the thickness. It is a 12-megapixel camera with 1.4-micron pixel sensor and F/1.7 aperture and it has a CCT dual-LED flash support. There is laser autofocus and dual autofocus support and the Moto Z2 Play has the dual-LED CCT flash support offered for the 5-megapixel front facing camera as well, which comes with the F/2.2 aperture.
The Z2 Play runs Android 7.1 Nougat OS and it is almost the stock UI that you always see on the Moto devices, with the addition of Moto Voice and the Moto app that brings in a few gestures and special features.
One other noticeable difference is the battery capacity as the Moto Z2 Play now comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which is less than the 3510 mAh battery capacity on the Moto Z Play launched last year. But according to Lenovo, the phone will be able to have the same battery life because of the optimization done by the new chipset. Also, the TurboPower charger included with the Moto Z2 Play will be able to give about 50% of the charge in just about 30 minutes.
For the connectivity, the device has got 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with the dual band Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type C 3.1. The device has also got NFC and the Z2 Play has the 3.5mm headset jack.
There is a bunch of Moto Mods that are supported by the Moto Z2 Play and these include Moto Power Pack, JBL SoundBoost 2, Turbo Power Pack, Moto GamePad, and the phone will also support the Moto Mods that were previously available for its predecessor.
The phone will be available on multiple channels but the online channel is Flipkart. The sales begin from 15th June but the pre-orders begin today. For the pre booking, any Mod will be available with 50% discount. A free Armor pack is also available and 100GB additional Jio data is offered.
Cool Moto Mods, what’s the difference in Moto Power pack and Turbo Power pack!?
It could have the latest SD660 SoC for better battery life!
aside from camera improvement, SD626 and a little design change there’s actually no noticeable difference betn this phone and mooto Z play but it still costs 5k more than Z play, this is not good at all, Moto should have priced it near 23k coz for 28k u can have better phones like OnePlus 3, GALAXY C9 pro even C7 pro is better for 25k!!
