Motorola India has started sending out the invites for the launch event that is going to happen on August 29th when the Moto G5S series is said to be officially arriving into the Indian market. Although the teaser mentions only the Moto G5s Plus, the series includes both the Plus variant as well as the standard Moto G5s.
The smartphones that were announced back in MWC 2017 event in February are finally entering the Indian market in a category that is highly competitive and has devices from the company itself, the Moto G5 Plus, and the parent brands’ Lenovo K8 Note as well. Amazon India has already opened up a dedicated page to showcase the phone’s arrival indicating that the device will be available exclusively there.
The Moto G5S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocking at 2.0 GHz, options with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The device also has the 3000 mAh battery and the support for TurboPower charging. Just like the Moto G5 series, the phone runs Android Nougat OS and should be in the list of phones to later get the Android Oreo update.
One of the major changes with the device is with the cameras where the Moto G5S Plus now has a dual-lens rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel cameras placed side-by-side with the F/2.0 aperture and while they do help in offering the selective focus, the camera app has a few more features including the change of background completely. The rear camera can capture 4K videos while the device has an 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfie and video calls.
On the other side, the Moto G5S has a 5.2-inch Full HD display and internally it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset clocking at 1.4GHz, with a single variant offering 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and the option for storage expansion with the MicroSD card. The phone doesn’t offer the dual-lens camera setup on the back but there is a 16-megapixel shooter with the F/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The front of the device has a 5-megapixel selfie camera assisted by a LED flash.
While the price seemed a bit high when the phones were launched in the European market, the company usually has a little lesser price and that is what is expected even with the Moto G5S series that is coming on August 29th.
