From the previous leak of the Moto’s 2017 lineup, the other leak was about the seven other models of Moto phones which went through the Wi-Fi Alliance. They were ought to be the ‘C’ or ‘E’ series from the company. However, it turned out to be the ‘E’ series finally by the official announcement from the company. And as it turns out, only two of them are announced for now. Moto-acquired Lenovo is bringing up these two, namely, Moto C and Moto C Plus into the entry-level smartphone market with decent hardware under the hood also making them affordable by just pricing them from $100.
Moving over to the specifications, the Moto C has a 5-inch 854 x 480 (FWVGA) display along with 8GB of onboard storage and 1GB of RAM. It comes in two variants with 3G powered by 32-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and with 4G powered by 64-bit 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. There are a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera both with LED flash and 2350 mAh battery.
Coming to the specifications of Moto C Plus, it has a 5-inch 720p display along with 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. It is powered by the 64-bit quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek CPU, Dual-SIM support, and 4000 mAh battery. The cameras on this one are the 8MP rear and 2MP front with both LED flashlights.
Both the Moto C and Moto C Plus support MicroSD card and run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
In terms of availability, they come in Metallic Cherry, Pearl White, Fine Gold and Starry Black colors and a very neat design which will surely attract quite some good users. While they’re not going to be available in the US anytime soon, you can expect them to launch in India sometime in the first week of June with a price tag of around Rs. 6200 for the 3G Moto C variant, around Rs. 7000 for the 4G variant, and Rs. 8300 for the Moto C Plus.
