Micromax has launched their latest flagship smartphone, the Canvas 5 joining the popular Canvas series It comes with a 5.2-inch fullHD display having 2.5D curved screen with neat slim bezels. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 GPU and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It comes with 3GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB using microSD card.
The Canvas 5 is priced competitively with the specifications at offer, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera having Samsung 3M2 sensor along with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) which is said to bring the object into focus in just 0.2 seconds which is quite impressive. The front camera is a 5MP shooter having a selfie flash as well which allows you to take better selfies in poor lighting conditions.

It is powered by a 2900mAh battery with up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 275 hours of standby time, it uses Content Adaptive Back light Control which manages power and adjusts the image display to appear brighter. The Canvas 5 will be available in two colors of Space Grey and Tan brown starting from Today. The Micromax Canvas 5 is priced at Rs. 11,999 and comes with double data offer for Airtel 4G customers for 3 months along with 7 day door step service policy. There is also a 12 month EMI scheme with Micromax tying up with Bajaj Finance with the customers required to pay four advance EMIs at the time of purchase.
With this competitive pricing the Canvas 5 will be competing in the already heavily competitive segment having the recent CoolPad Note 3 which sports the same chipset.
