Meizu, has launched a new variant of the MX5 in China called the MX5E which is a toned down version of the MX5. The device comes with a metal body having similar design to the Meizu MX5 with a physical Home button which houses the mTouch 2.0 Fingerprint sensor. The exterior of the device is similar to the MX5 with a similar 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with Gorilla Glass 3 protection over it.
The internal specifications have been toned down compared to the MX5, with the MX5e having a 2.0GHz MediaTek MT6795 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM compared to the 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 SoC in the MX5.

The Meizu MX5e comes with 16GF of internal storage, the device sports a 16MP rear camera compared to the 20.7MP rear camera in the MX5. The front camera remains the same with a 5MP shooter. The rear camera comes with LED flash and Laser Auto Focus along with it. It runs on Android Lollipop based Flyme OS.
The MX5e comes with 3150mAh battery which is similar to the MX5 and comes with quick charging with the help of mCharge technology which claims to charge to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. The device comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB.
The Meizu MX5e is listed on the company website store in China and is priced at CNY 1,699 which is approximately Rs. 17,400. There is no information about the availability of the device outside China. Meizu has launched the MX5 in India last year.
