Meizu M3s is a brand new lower mid-range smartphone with decent specifications. The handset sports a metal unibody construction and comes with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM, octa-core processor, 2.5D curved display and 4G VoLTE support. The newly launched Meizu M3s features a starting price of Rs. 7,999 and is available exclusively through Snapdeal in India.
The newest mobile from Meizu rocks a premium build quality. Upfront, it houses a 5-inch display with 2.5D curvature. This is a fully laminated IPS LCD panel and offers HD (1280 x 720) resolution. Moving to inside, a MediaTek MT6750 chipset powers the Meizu M3s. The octa-core 64-bit processor is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture. There are two sets of quad-core ARM A53 processors each running at 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz respectively. A dual core Mali T860 GPU handles the graphics department.
Speaking of memory, the Meizu M3s has two different versions. The lower end model sports 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM combined with 16 GB of onboard storage, while the top-end one boasts 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM along with 32 GB of inbuilt memory. Both the version supports storage expansion via the micro SD card slot in the hybrid SIM tray. The latest handset also sports a fingerprint scanner which remains incorporated with the home button.
Coming to the software part, the Meizu M3s runs a rather old Android 5.1 Marshmallow. However, the operating system is deeply modified by the company’s Flyme user interface. With the moderately powerful hardware and Meizu’s system optimisations, the brand new smartphone should offer respectable performance.
A 13 MP autofocus primary camera sits at the back of the Meizu M3s. This is a five lens module and features a modest f/2.2 aperture size. The rear camera uses PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) technique and is assisted by a dual tone LED flash. At the front, there lies a 5 MP selfie shooter. This has a larger f/2.0 sized aperture and thus will fare better in low light conditions. The newly launched smartphone can record Full HD 1080p footages at 30 fps.
The dual SIM Meizu M3s supports 4G LTE along with VoLTE (Voice over LTE). So, you can easily use it with Reliance Jio. Other connectivity mediums include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0. The smartphone is OTG compliant and features an inbuilt digital compass. A suitable 3020mAh non-removable battery juices up the latest handset.
The 2 GB / 16 GB version of the phone costs Rs. 7,999, while the higher end 3 GB / 32 GB one has a price tag of Rs. 9,299. In India, the handset is available in three different colour options namely Silver, Gold and Grey. You can purchase the Meizu M3s right now from Snapdeal.
