The Wind series under the LYF brand of smartphones has a new addition, with a phablet added to the lineup – the LYF Wind 2. The phablet comes with a 6-inch HD display and the specifications aren’t heavy on offer, but this does seem like a good budget choice for phablet along with the 4G connectivity with Jio 4G Preview offer.
The phone comes with a Zoom magnification feature that lets you zoom into a certain part of the screen. Under the 6-inch display, the processor included is the MediaTek MTK6735M quad-core chipset clocking at 1GHz. Along with that is 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, with a MicroSD card slot allowing for the storage expansion by another 32GB.
The LYF Wind 2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and it has Dual SIM card slot with both SIMs supporting 4G, but when one is connected to 4G network, the other can connect only to a 2G network. As for the camera, the phablet has an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera is assisted by a LED flash but it can record only 720p videos and there is no Full HD video recording support offered here. Some of the camera features include Auto-Focus, Multi-Angle View Mode, ASD (Auto-Scene Detection), Face Detection, Video Snapshot, Smile Shot and Gesture Capture.
The weight of 223gm is quite high but when we are talking about a 6-inch device, that is how much usually the weight would be. The phone supports 4G LTE connectivity, with the bands supported being FDD-LTE BAND3(1800)/ BAND5(850), and TDD-LTE BAND40(2300). There are other standard connectivity options are all there, and the phone also supports USB OTG connectivity.
A 2850 mAh battery powers the phone and it is said to offer Up to 9 hours of talk time on 4G, and about 190 hours of standby time. The device is priced at Rs. 8299 and it will be available at the local stores.
