LG seems to be already talking things about its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G6. If it is about innovations, you have to give it to LG for its attempts and we might not see a gentle entry of the LG G6 for sure, as the company seems to be working on a solid body with a waterproof design, and a larger screen yet a compact phone, according to the teaser video posted by the company, talking about the wish list of people for their ideal smartphone.
Just a couple of days ago, LG Displays had introduced the 5.7-inch larger display with the 18:9 resolution, and this is said to be taking its place in the upcoming flagship, which already coincides with the point given in the wishlist – Big screen. The LG G5 had a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and while a 0.2-inch increment won’t make a big difference, but the new aspect ratio will do. Even with the larger screen, LG seems to be working to make the phone compact enough. If not making it possible to use it with one hand, there might be enough on the software side to help use the device with the same hand that is holding the phone.

Waterproof body – This is now a new feature for a LG flagship. Waterproofing of the smartphone body saves you of the unnecessary headache and the cost if the phone gets damaged due to the water ingress. Samsung had been bringing it in and taking it off in its recent flagships but having it is surely a great feature. Just like the one in LG G5, we can expect LG to have a dual-lens camera combination on the G6 as the video addressed the “Capture it all at once” request from one of the users, and this could hint towards the wide-angle secondary lens.
What else can we expect? Although there is nothing as such given in the teaser video, we can be sure that the LG G6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and it might have the USB Type-C port and support for wireless charging as well.
The launch date is not mentioned but it is coming in February, and if LG follows the usual cycle, expect it to be officially launched at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona that happens towards the end of the month.
