Update: May 25th – LG India has started sending out invites for the LG G5 launch, which is officially launching on June 1st. This matches with the estimated release date stated on Flipkart on the pre-order page, and the delivery date is stated as June 6th.
The LG G5 flagship smartphone isn’t launching in India this month, as the pre-booking for the modular smartphone begins tomorrow and that will be open till 30th May. To add to it, those who pre-order the smartphone will receive a LG Cam Plus free along with the LG G5.
The pre-ordering of the phone is possible at mobile stores, at LG brand shops and online exclusively at Flipkart. The flagship smartphone from LG comes with a unique modular-type design where the battery module can be removed from the bottom and be replaced by additional add-on modules.
Update: May 21st – The pricing is revealed on Flipkart, where the phone is available for Rs. 52990. It is available Gold, Silver, and Titan options. The estimated release date is June 1st and the delivery date is given as June 6th.
The LG G5 has a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The rear camera is a dual setup with a 16MP primary lens and an 8MP secondary lens, which is for wider shots. On the front of the device is an 8MP shooter.
The phone has a 2800 mAh battery, and the interesting part is the companion accessories, which LG refers to as Friends. One of them is the LG Cam Plus, which will be offered for free if the device is pre-ordered this week.
