Lenovo has finally released the much awaited Z2 Plus in India. The smartphone which goes by the name ZUK Z2 in China offers flagship hardware at an affordable price point. The Lenovo Z2 Plus sports a fiberglass construction which is claimed to stronger yet lighter than metals. The handset comes at a starting price of Rs. 17999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon.in.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus features a 5.0-inch LTPS IPS LCD touchscreen. This is a 2.5D display with Full HD 1080p resolution. The new handset comes with an innovative U-Touch Home Button. In addition to sporting a fingerprint sensor, the Home key also packs in trackpad like functionalities which can be used for various advanced controls. The latest smartphone comes with a proprietary thermal controlling technology to monitor and prevent overheating.
Inside the Z2 Plus sits the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset. The cutting-edge 64-bit quad-core processor can run at a maximum frequency of 2.15 GHz. This is combined with an Adreno 530 GPU for outstanding graphics performance. Coming to storage, the newly launched handset features 3 GB or4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with a non-expandable 32 GB or 64 GB of SanDisk iNAND 7232 internal memory. The Lenovo Z2 Plus runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Unlike its predecessor, this is a vanilla Android Operating System instead of Cyanogen.
Speaking of the camera hardware, the latest smartphone sports a Samsung made 13 MP rear camera. The ISOCELL sensor is equipped with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) as well as CAF (Continuous Auto Focus). It supports 4K 2160p video recording at 30 frames per second. There is a LED flash at the back of the phone. The front camera of the Lenovo Z2 Plus is an 8 MP unit and can shoot Full HD 1080p videos.
The dual SIM handset supports 4G LTE as well as VoLTE (Voice over LTE). This means it is fully compatible with Reliance Jio. Talking about other connectivity options, the Z2 Plus comes with 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS and the new generation Type-C USB port. A non-removable 3500mAh Lithium-polymer battery juices up the device. The latest smartphone from Lenovo supports Quick Charge 3.0.
A new U Health application is pre-installed in the Z2 Plus. Lenovo claims that it will offer lots of utility to the sports enthusiasts taking the help of the phone’s inbuilt sensors. The smartphone will be sold in two color variants namely Ceramic White and Titanium Black. Lenovo Z2 Plus will be available for purchase on 25th September 11:59pm from Amazon.in for a price of Rs. 17999 for the 3 GB / 32 GB variant and Rs. 19999 for the 4 GB / 64 GB model.
