Lenovo, which is doing pretty good with its aggressive pricing of smartphones, is now expanding its horizon, releasing smartphones with one specific trait to appeal to users. Lenovo Vibe P1 was rumoured earlier, and now it has been listed in a Chinese certification website TENAA. The Vibe P1 is expected to be launched in the IFA trade show in Berlin, and is equipped with a huge 5000 mAh battery.
Lenovo’s new naming strategy seems to suggest that, the company will be concentrating on a specific feature to make it stand out of the competition. With the Lenovo Vibe S1 which was aimed at Selfie fans, the Vibe P1 on the other hand, comes with a mammoth 5000 mAh battery and the “P” seems to be Power. The Lenovo Vibe P1 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display having a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The mobile is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor which clocks 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU and supported by 3GB RAM.
The Vibe P1 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. It comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded using microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based on Vibe UI. It runs on 5000mAh battery which is the main feature of the device to make it stand out of the competition. It supports fast charging with 24-watt charging capability.
On the Connectivity aspect, the device supports dual-SIM option which supports 4G LTE along with 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The device will be showcased in the IFA event in Berlin, the pricing and the availability of the device will be made official at the event in September.
If the listing of the device in Pandawill website can be trusted, the Vibe P1 will be priced at Rs. 20,500, which seems to be a bit on the higher side compared to devices like YU Yureka Plus, Xiaomi Mi4i and Lenovo K3 Note, with similar processor and display. The main factor which must justify the pricing is the 5000 mAh battery.
