Let’s not confuse ourselves when the brand is pushing its devices with specific series names. Lenovo has smartphones in several sub-series, and these include the ones starting with “A”, “K”, and “X” as well. There has been a flurry of launches from the Global brand Lenovo (that has its presence even in U.S., thanks to Motorola) in the recent times, and it just confuses a buyer in the end on whether the device they are choosing is going outdated before they even hit the “Buy Now” button.
The Lenovo K4 Note went on sale recently in India, and around that time, the Lenovo K5 Note got launched in China. Is it a sign of worry for those who already bought the K4 Note? No, it will take a good time before the successor to it enters the Indian market.

Go back to MWC 2016, Lenovo announced a new Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. K5, again? Or was it the same device that got launched in China? It certainly is a new phone and now, the K5 Plus is launching in India on March 15th. And it now seems more like a successor to the almost-forgotten Lenovo A6000, than it is for the K4 Note.
The Lenovo A6000 did quite well when the competition in its price range was not fierce, and when things started getting heated up, the company had to come up with the A6000 Plus with better RAM and internal storage. It did have a very good Snapdragon 410 chipset in tow. Now, the upcoming K5 Plus could easily take the load of A6000’s shoulders, and carry it forward with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor and 2GB of RAM. Along with that, we are also looking at a Full HD display.
Another reason why we are calling the K5 Plus as a successor to the A6000 is that the Xiaomi Redmi 3 (which is still only available in China) is powered by the same Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor. Similarly, the K5 Note relates to the Redmi Note 3.
We’re quite sure that the Lenovo K5 Plus will not be priced higher than the K4 Note, and at the same time, not something as low priced as the A6000. For this part, we’ll have to wait till March 15th, when the phone gets officially launched in India.
