LeEco is known to be the “first” when it comes to some specific details with smartphone launches. The Le Max Pro was the first smartphone ever to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and if the rumors are true, we might now see LeEco launching the first smartphone based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor.
It doesn’t really count as an achievement because the chipset isn’t going to be an exclusive one for LeEco, but then, LeEco doesn’t make smartphones that are just about specifications. Of course, every company would want to steal the limelight by using the tag of being first in something, so is the case with LeEco.
According to the report on GizmoChina, the company is now working to bring a new smartphone at the MWC Shanghai 2016 event. The MWC Shanghai event will start on June 29th, and we expect to see many Chinese smartphone brands to launch new devices, and if LeEco launches the new smartphone, we might well some other brands picking up this chipset in the coming months, and it won’t be a surprise to see Samsung choosing it for the next Galaxy Note upgrade.
The inclusion of 6GB of RAM is already seen in some of the smartphones out there, with LeEco Le Max 2, ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe being the list. Now, it again is well expected that the device from LeEco will have that much RAM capacity for sure.
It is again another question whether we might actually see a smartphone with the Snapdragon 823 chipset so soon because it was just recently that the phones with Snapdragon 820 came into the market. But given how things have been happening, we might see just an announcement with the device to be getting into the market at par with the IFA 2016 event that happens towards the end of Q3 every year.
So, the rumors are still, rumors, and we will get to know more once we are closer to the event date. Though it might seem unlikely, several brands have a habit of surprising the lot at times.
