Hyve Mobility has announced its entry into the very competitive Indian Android smartphone market. The company was co-founded by Sharad Mehrotra, a former executive at Apple, along with Aditya Agarwal and Abhishek Agarwal.
Hyve Buzz and Storm are the devices, and the two smartphones are aimed to extend delight, with its best-in-class hardware, pure Android and PAN India pick-up & drop support services, according the company.

Now, let’s talk about the phones individually.
Hyve Buzz
The Buzz comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D Arc Glass and enabled with MediaTek MiraVision, and the phone is powered by MediaTek MT6753 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 48GB storage included (16GB internal memory, 32GB pre-installed SD card) and it is further expandable by 128GB using a MicroSD card.
The 13-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor can take 1080p videos and it has a Dual LED flash support, and on the front is a 5-megapixel camera. The fingerprint scanner located on the back of the phone not just helps in unlocking the device, but the Touch2Call feature from the company is said to offer mapping of your favourite contacts to your fingerprints, making it quick and easy to access your frequently dialled numbers.
The Buzz is IPX4 certified, so although it would be good enough to keep away the spills and rain drops from entering the device internally. This is a Dual SIM smartphone with support for 4G LTE and VoLTE support is included as well. The device has stock Android Lollipop OS running and it is upgradeable to Android Marshmallow.
A 2500 mAh Li-polymer battery is said to offer 15 hours of talk time on 4G, and 22 days of standby time on 4G, and the TruLife technology from Hyve is said to be offering an optimized usage for a longer battery life. There is USB Type-C connectivity with fast charging as well.
For the connectivity, apart from 4G, there is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. There is a hexagon-shaped illuminating notification light, and the back has a scratch-resistant panel.
The Hyve Buzz is priced at Rs. 13999.
Hyve Storm
This is the smaller variant and also, a bit downgraded with the specs and thus, you are looking at it in the price range that matches the likes of Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. The phone has a 5-inch HD display enabled with MediaTek MiraVision, and internally, there is MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocking at 1.3 GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable further via. MicroSD card.
The rear camera on the phone is a 13-megapixel ISOCELL one with Phase detection autofocus and on the front is a 5-megapixel shooter. The device has a metallic rim on the side and unlike the Buzz, there is no oleophobic coating here on the Hyve Storm.
The Hyve Storm has a 2000 mAh battery and there is MicroUSB port for the charging. Even this phone has 4G LTE connectivity and it has Dual SIM support.
The Hyve Storm is priced at Rs. 8499.
