Smartphone cameras have been getting better with time, and it isn’t limited to a megapixel war now. Thankfully, we’ve been seeing newer camera setups, including better sensors, and a few smartphones having dual cameras. The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus carry a dual camera setup, which is not a basic one to just have something different, but a Leica SUMMARIT H 1:2.2/2.7 dual lens with the inclusion of laser autofocus and a dual LED flash.
The dual camera setup isn’t new from Huawei because we’ve seen a similar one on Honor 6 Plus, but it is a Leica setup that makes it a better one on the newly announced P9 and the P9 Plus. The P9 is said to have been co-engineered with Leica, and both the companies that have partnered for this say that this is the “reinvention of smartphone photography”.
