Besides the Honor 8, Huawei has brought two more smartphones in India. Huawei Honor 8 Smart and Honor Holly 3 are the newly launched handsets. Specification-wise, the former is an upper mid-range device, and the latter is a mid-range offering. The Honor 8 Smart features a price tag of Rs. 19,999 while the Honor Holly 3 costs Rs. 9,999.
The Huawei Honor 8 Smart sports a metal design strengthened with an aerospace-grade aluminium-magnesium alloy frame. Upfront, there is a 5.2-inch In-cell IPS LCD panel with Full HD 1080p resolution. With 405 nits’ brightness and 1500:1 contrast ratio, this will be adequately visible at outdoors.
Internally, the Honor 8 Smart packs in the 64-bit octa-core Kirin 650 chipset with up to 2.0 GHz clock speed. Onscreen, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System is heavily modified by EMUI 4.1. Coming to memory, this handset features 2 GB of RAM alongside 16 GB of inbuilt storage. There is a micro SD card slot, which can take in up to 128 GB chips.
A 13 MP autofocus camera sits at the back of the Honor 8 Smart. This is a 5-piece lens module with f/2.0 aperture and BSI sensor. At the front, there lies an 8 MP selfie shooter with AR (anti-reflective coating) outside. This too is a 5-piece lens unit with f/2.0 sized aperture. The camera application boasts some exciting features like professional mode, object tracking, slow motion, etc.
There is the latest generation fingerprint sensor placed at the back of the Honor 8 Smart. Connectivity-wise, the new smartphone is pretty standard with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth v4.1, etc. A 3000mAh battery fuels up the latest handset. There are three color options namely White, Black and Gold. The Huawei Honor 8 Smart will be available both online and offline for a price of Rs. 19,999.
The other handset, Huawei Honor Holly 3 is a Made in India device. It sports a compact poly-carbonate body designed with classic 3D textures. A 5.5-inch HD 720p display sits on the top of the smartphone. Android 6.0 Marshmallow coated with EMUI 4.1 runs on the Honor Holly 3.
Speaking of performance, the mid-range smartphone comes with a 64-bit octa-core Kirin 620 processor operating at the highest frequency of 1.2 GHz. This is supplemented by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of EMMC internal storage which is exactly similar to the Honor 8 Smart. There is also a micro SD card with up to 128 GB capacity.
The camera set-up of the Huawei Holly 3 consists of a 13 MP rear autofocus camera with BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture size and an 8 MP fixed focus front shooter. However, this probably lacks the professional shooting mode.
The Honor Holly 3 features similar connectivity options as the Honor 8 Smart with 4G LTE, single-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB 2.0, etc. A slightly larger 3100mAh battery juices up the Holly 3. The device shall be available for purchase both online and offline. The Huawei Honor Holly 3 will retail for Rs. 9,999.
