Just as it promised, HTC has finally introduced the HTC U Ultra; the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the U-series. The new HTC U Ultra comes with a 2-inch secondary touchscreen display above the main display. The HTC U Ultra is said to be made available in Sapphire Blue, Cosmetic Pink, Brilliant Black and Ice White colors and the device is up for pre-order from htc.com for $750 (Rs. 51,000 approx.) starting today. It is priced at NT $23,900 (US$ 753 / Rs. 51280 approx.) in Taiwan and the high-end 128GB Sapphire Glass costs you NT $ 28,900 (US$ 911 / Rs. 62015 approx.). HTC will start shipping the HTC U ultra from March 2017.
The HTC U Ultra sports a 5.7-inches Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) Super LCD 5 display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a secondary 2.0-inch Super LCD 5 display with a pixel density of 520 PPI. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The U Ultra comes with HTC Sense companion software inbuilt that uses A.I to learn about you and offer suggestions based on your tastes. It will learn about your important contacts and most used apps and show notifications accordingly on the secondary display.
In the camera department, the HTC U Ultra features a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS, and is also capable of recording UHD 4K videos. On the front, it has a big 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and UltraPixel mode for better selfies.
It packs a Fingerprint sensor embedded within the home button, HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D Audio recording with 4 microphones. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C. A good 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 will take care of the battery department.
