HTC has introduced the U-series smartphones with the launch of HTC U Ultra back in January, and today the company has officially launched the smartphones in India just as it promised. The HTC U Ultra comes with a 2.1-inches secondary display above the 5.7-inch Quad HD primary display. While the U-Play packs a 5.2-inches Full HD display.
Update: Amazon India is the exclusive seller for HTC U Play in India with the price of Rs. 29990. It is also available with no-cost EMI.
HTC U Ultra Specifications:
The HTC U Ultra sports a 5.7-inches Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) Super LCD 5 display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a 2.0-inches (160 x 1040 pixels) Super LCD 5 secondary display with a pixel density of 520 PPI. The U Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64 internal storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 2TB.
The device runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with HTC Sense UI. It comes with new HTC Sense Companion software which uses AL to learn about you and offers intelligent suggestions. It determines your most valuable contacts, apps, data and shows relevant information on the 2.1-inch secondary display. It suggests you when to charge your device and more.
In the camera department, it packs a 12-megapixel UltraPixel 2 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS, and can record 4K videos. Up front, there is a big 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture with UltraPixel mode for better selfies and video calls. HTC has included the HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D Audio Recording with four microphones on board as additional features. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Hybrid Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C. A 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 is on board.

The HTC U Play rocks a 5.2-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P10 Octa-Core processor with Mali T860 GPU. It packs a 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 2TB. Unlike the U Ultra, the U Play runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
In the camera department, the U Play features a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS and the same 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, UltraPixel mode. It comes with a Fingerprint sensor, HTC USonic, Dual microphones with noise cancellation. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Hybrid Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C. A 2500mAh battery with fast charging support is on board.
Pricing and Availability: The HTC U Ultra comes in Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink, and Sapphire Blue Black colors and is priced at Rs. 59,990 (MOP). It will be available from March 6th. While the HTC U Play comes in Iceberg White, Indigo Blue, Black Oil and Cosmic Pink Gold colors and is priced at Rs. 39,990 (MOP). It will be available mid-March. HTC is offering one-year insurance that covers liquid damage and any physical damage to both the smartphones.
