HTC today announced their new flagship, the HTC One A9, with a metal unibody design, pumped up specs and a lot of improvements in the camera department.
Full metal unibody design, just like the M8 and M9, but this with the antenna lines makes it look more like the iPhone. It comes in four colors, i.e. Topaz Gold, Carbon Gray, Opal Silver and Deep Garnet, and the fusing of metal and glass on side gives it a smooth edge experience.
One thing that was constant with HTC is the screen size. The One A9 comes with 5-inch Super AMOLED display with the same 1080p resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Fingerprint scanner is included in the device, on the button located below the screen on the front. The One A9 has a high-output amp to drive the biggest headphones at full volume, according to the company.
The phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core chipset, and there are 16GB/32GB variants, with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The One A9 is the first non-Nexus device to run Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The company also claims that the A9 will receive Android updates just within 15 days after a Google Nexus gets it, and it will also have the bootloader unlocked.
The camera on the back of HTC One A9 comes with Optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, and it also supports RAW captures. Hyper-lapse videos are possible on the A9. The One A9 has a 2150 mAh battery, and it is Quick Charge 2.0 compatible.
The One A9 will be available from the first week of November, and that will be globally available. The pre-orders begin today. The device will be covered by Uh Oh protection, and there is 6 months of Google Play Music subscription available for free. The price set is $399, and this is said to be a limited-time special price.
