HTC has launched a new device in the mid-range category called Desire 728 in China. The HTC Desire 728 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, it seems to be the same display which was seen in the Desire 820G+ which was also launched recently. The smartphone is available for pre-orders and will be shipped from mid-September.
The Desire 728 is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC which is supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space, it can be expanded up to an impressive 2TB using microSD card which is a strange feature to include in a mid-range phone. The device measures 157.9×77.84×7.87mm and weighs around 153 grams in weight.
The Desire 728 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and has HTC Sense over it. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. In all aspects, the Desire 728 appears to be the younger sibling to the Desire 820 G+. The Desires 728 is powered by a 2800mAh battery which is said to come with 21 hours of talk time and up to 485 hours of standby time in 3G.
The Desire 728 comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE TDD connectivity, 3G, Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB. The device supports Dual SIM network support. It comes with BoomSound technology along with Dolby Audio which is provided in the device.

HTC has not yet announced the price of the HTC Desire 728 but is said to be priced slightly above the Rs. 16,000 mark. With HTC targetting the mid-range market more from the past couple of months, this device also is in a similar range like Desire 820G+, Desire 520, Desire 526, Desire 626s etc.
