After being available for a month now in China, Honor has finally launched the Honor 8X, today, in India. The latest mid-range smartphone from Honor is the successor to the popular Honor 7X, that was launched last year.
The Honor 8X features a Full HD+ (2340×1080p) IPS LCD panel that spreads across 6.5-inches of size. There’s a notch on the front on the top, that results in an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 91% screen to body ratio. Powering the 8X is the flashy new Kirin 710 SOC, paired with Mali-G51 MP4 graphics. There is GPU Turbo support given as well. It comes in three variants – 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, 6 GB with 64GB and 128GB storage options. As a bonus, the phone comes with a dedicated microSD card slot which can take cards up to 400GB in capacity. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.2 on top.
For imaging, the Honor 8X uses dual rear cameras, which includes a 20 MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 2 MP for capturing depth information. On the front, the phone uses a single 16 MP selfie shooter which has a f/2.0 aperture.
Fueling the Honor 8X is a 3750 mAh battery, that sits under the 2.5D double texture Aurora Glass back. The connectivity options offered on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Dual-band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS & GLONASS. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for securing your smartphone and the phone also has Face Unlock for the security.
Pricing and Availability of Honor 8X
The Honor 8X comes in Black, Blue, Red, and Purple. The 4 GB RAM variant can be availed for 14,999, while the 6 GB RAM variant with 64GB storage is for Rs. 16999, and 128GB for is available for 18999. The phones will be available exclusively on Flipkart.
