Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially launched the Honor 8 smartphone in China. Coming in three variants, the Honor 8 has the Dual rear camera setup as one of the important features. This feature was rumored for weeks now, and it is exactly what was rumored. The device has a metal side frame and a glass back, and the phone has a slim profile with 7.45mm thickness.
The Honor 8 has a 5.2-inch LTPS LCD display with the Full HD resolution, giving it a pixel density of 423 PPI. The smartphone comes powered by the octa-core Kirin 950 processor that clocks at 1.8 GHz. The different variants are depending on the RAM and internal storage – 1. 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage; 2. 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage; 3. 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Ticking the boxes for all the important necessities, the Honor 8 has a USB Type-C port with fast charging support for the battery, and on the back, there is a fingerprint scanner as well. It is the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EMUI 4.1 that the device runs. The phone has a Dual SIM card slot but the second SIM slot can be used to place a MicroSD card for storage expansion.
As for the cameras, which are one of the important aspects of the device, it is a dual-rear camera setup. These are two 12-megapixel cameras with the laser autofocus support, F/2.2 aperture and the support by Dual LED dual-tone flash as well. On the front, the Honor 8 has an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
The phone supports 4G LTE connectivity, and the other options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and an Infrared sensor as well. The Honor 8 has a 3000 mAh battery packed on the back, and it is a non-removable battery.
There is no information given about the availability and pricing in the other markets, but in China, the variants are priced at CNY 1999, CNY 2299, and CNY 2499 respectively for the models listed above.
