HMD Global, a Nokia brand licensee, has scheduled an event on October 11, in India. The company has sent out an invite which says “HMD Global invites you to an exclusive gathering for an important announcement. Let the festive season begin.”
While the company hasn’t revealed any other details as of what to expect from the event, we do expect HMD Global to announce the upcoming Nokia 7.1 Plus. The phone is set to launch in China dubbed as Nokia X7, on October 4. The yet to be announced 7.1 Plus is expected to come with a notched display, similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the 5.1 Plus.
The rumored specifications of the Nokia 7.1 Plus include a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2246×1080 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The brand new Octa-core Snapdragon 710 SOC will power the smartphone, with Adreno 616 GPU. The phone will be available in 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage and a 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage variants. There’s also room for storage expansion with microSD cards up to 400 GB in size. The phone will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo, with an option for upgrading it Android 9 Pie.
The 7.1 Plus will offer dual rear cameras with a 12 MP primary shooter and secondary 13 MP shooter, similar to the one found on the 7 Plus. The front-facing cameras will offer a 20 MP sensor for selfies.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The battery sees a tiny reduction in size with 3400 mAh battery fueling the smartphone over a 3800 mAh unit found on the Nokia 7 Plus. Similar to its predecessor, the 7.1 Plus will come with fast charging support.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus will come in Red, Silver and Blue colors. As mentioned earlier the phone is set to go official in China, later this week and will launch in India on October 11.
