Gionee India has shown a slow progress in the recent times, and while the Marathon series is awaiting an upgrade, which has already happened in China, the company has launched an upgrade to the Gionee S6, with features that add up for better photography with the front-facing camera. It is the Gionee S6s that gets officially launched in India.
The predecessor Gionee S6 was launched back in February and now, the Gionee S6s comes with a front-facing flash to assist in selfie captures in low light conditions. As for the other specs, it is not much different from the S6, as you would see a 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front and it is an IPS in-cell display.
Internally, the Gionee S6s is powered by the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocking at 1.3GHz and there is 3GB of RAM supporting it along with 32GB internal storage and a MicroSD card slot allowing for storage expansion by up to 128GB. It is the Android Marshmallow OS based Amigo OS 3.2 version that runs on the device.
As for the camera, which is one of the important aspects about this upgraded phone, you get to see a 13-megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 aperture, and on the front is an 8-megapixel F/2.2 camera with fixed focus but there is an addition of a High CRI front flash. The camera app also offers a lot of modes including Professional, Face Beauty, HDR, Panorama, GIF, Night mode, Smart Scene, Mood Photo, Slow motion, Macro, Text recognition, Time-lapse, Smart scan, Ultra Pixel, and PicNote.
The Gionee S6s has a plethora of connectivity options including TDD/FDD LTE, Dual SIM connectivity, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, MicroUSB with OTG support, and GPS. The phone has a 3150 mAh battery.
The device is priced at Rs. 17999 and it will be available in Latte Gold and Mocha Gold color options.
