Gionee has launched their latest device, the Pioneer P2M, which is the successor of the P2S from the company released last year. The Pioneer P2M is a major upgrade from the P2S, which had minimal specifications and always made me wonder why in the first place did Gionee launch this device in the price range which is having much better phones with a lot better specs like the Moto E and the phones by Xiaomi and Asus.
Coming to the P2M, this device sports a 4-inch WVGA display and it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (Mediatek MT6582M) with 400 Mali GPU, which is a slight upgrade from the previous model. The device has 1GB RAM and 16 GB of internal memory which can be further expanded to 32GB using microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 OS over it, which is Gionee’s own forked version of Android.

It has a 5MP primary camera with LED flash, and a 2MP front facing camera which comes with V-gestures shot feature that will let you take selfies by just hand gestures without the need to touch your device.
The device is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which might get a lesser ask from the display because it is just a WVGA resolution, thus the battery is expected to last longer than what it would have for an HD display. It has Dual SIM 3G support and comes with all the other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.
The Gionee Pioneer P2M go on sale at a price of Rs. 6,999 and will be available in white, bold black and stylish gold colors. The phone will be available at online as well as in offline retails shops. This is not one of the best devices in the price range that it is being offered but a decent one if you need good battery life and are not much into using heavy apps then this is a decent choice.
