Samsung’s flagships are one that get a lot of attention even months before it actually gets released. The Galaxy S7 is no exception, and while one of the recent reports talked about the phone getting an Iris scanner for security and authentication, the newer reports cited by Reuters say that the Edge variant of the Galaxy S7 will be bigger than the standard flagship.
The report from ETNews claimed that unlike the 5.1-inch display on the Galaxy S6, it will be a slightly bigger 5.2-inch display on the Galaxy S7, and the resolution will be the same, i.e. Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels). But the S7 Edge will be quite bigger, though not as big as the S6 Edge Plus that came alongside the Note 5 this year.
With many rumors and hype being created around the Galaxy S7 it is said that Samsung will be finalizing the development of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in January and the production part will be starting from February of next year. With the CES starting in just a few days we cannot expect the Galaxy S7 to be ready by then, the next big event is going to be the MWC 2016 which starts from February 22, 2016 and we are expecting the device to be showcased at this event.
With the Galaxy S6 Edge getting more response than expected compared to the Galaxy S6, we can expect the same with the next Flagship device as well. Both the devices the S7 and S7 Edge will feature AMOLED display having Quad HD display. Both the devices are going to come in two variants powered by Exynos 8890 processor and Snapdragon 820 SoC based on the region it is being released in. There are other rumors which point at the S7 sporting an Iris scanner as well which will be taking device security to another level.
