Coolpad, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer who has been operating in India through its Dazen brand, has launched a new smartphone, the Note 3 in the Indian market, for a price of Rs. 8999. Interestingly, Dazen will operate separately and Coolpad is naming this the Coolpad Note 3.
The company had already released the phone quite sometime back in China, and now the official unveiling could bring this into the category of the most affordable smartphones with a fingerprint sensor.
The Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) and internally, the phone has a Mediatek MT6753 octa-core processor (64-bit) along with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The device has a lot of similarities to the Xiaomi Redmi Note except with the processor.
The camera combination includes a 13-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera is assisted by LED flash and it can capture 1080p videos. Both the cameras are said to be coming with a CMOS sensor.
The fingerprint sensor on the back is said to offer a speedy recognition, and there is a 360-degree recognition possible as well. According to Coolpad, it isn’t only about unlocking the screen, but there is a lot more that can be done with the fingerprint scanner of the device. The user can assign certain apps to open for every fingerprint registered, so for example, you can use the index finger to open WhatsApp, middle finger for Facebook, and so on.
The phone priced at Rs. 8999 will be available on Amazon India from October 20th.
