BlackBerry Priv surfaces in official listing revealing specs and price

Blackberry’s very first Android smartphone PRIV is a slider which is creating quite a ripple in the smartphone segment. The pre-orders are in full swing and the pricing of Blackberry PRIV has also been revealed. The Priv was first confirmed by CEO John Chen in September amid rumors and later most of the specifications of the device were revealed by Blackberry. The recent update is the accidental listing of Blackberry Priv on Official Blackberry Shop website in the US and Canada.

The listing has been taken down, but a user in crackberry forum has captured the listing page and posted the screenshot which reveals the complete specifications along with the pricing and launch date. The final specifications of the device are listed below:

  • Display: 5.43-inch Quad HD AMOLED dual curved display with resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 540ppi.
  • Processor: Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit processor with 600 MHz Adreno 418 GPU
  • RAM and Storage: 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory expandable up to 2TB using microSD card
  • Camera: 18MP rear camera with dual-tone flash, OIS and 4K Video recording, 5MP front facing camera with 1.7 micron pixel size
  • OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, NFC, USB 2.0 with Slimport
  • Battery: 3,410 mAh with fast charging

The pricing given in the listing is $749 which is similar to what was announced and in Canada it is CA$ 949. When converted to Rs. 48500 Indian rupees but according to the other listing it is going to be around Rs. 58,000 for the SIM-free unit. We cannot be sure about the pricing in India until official news is revealed and the launch date is also not confirmed, a unit of PRIV was imported to India recently for testing. The Blackberry PRIV is expected to start shipping from November 16th as seen in the listing.
