Asus has launched their new range of smartphones, the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Zenfone 3 Ultra and Zenfone 3 Laser in India. The company has launched two variants of the Zenfone 3 based on screen size, a 5.2-inch and a 5.5-inch variant exclusively available on Snapdeal. Earlier this year Asus has launched the Zenfone 3 Deluxe and the Zenfone 3 Ultra alongside the Zenfone 3 in May. Asus has made it a point to launch various variants of a particular model and the same is seen with the Zenfone 3 coming with different screen size and variation in specifications.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and the other variants comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution having up to 600 nits brightness. We can see that Asus has made some major changes in the design aspect with a fusion of glass and metal having front and rear 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The front comes with a slim 2.1mm bezel giving it an aspect ratio of 77.3%. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display using Tru2Life technology and Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It comes with an almost bezel-less display with just 1.3mm bezel giving it a screen to body ratio of 79%. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes with an all-metal design with almost invisible antennas, it comes with a 0.14mm diamond -cut bevel and 4.2mm thin edges.
The Zenfone 3 comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC built on the world’s first 14nm FinFET LPP architecture and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. Asus has introduced two variants based on RAM and storage – 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and a 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variant. The device comes with a 16MP rear camera with IMX298 camera sensor, 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture with OIS and EIS which enable it to capture images in just 0.3 seconds using the TriTech auto-focus technology. It is capable of recording 4K Videos and the camera comes with Sapphire lens protection from scratches and cracks. It also sports an 8MP front facing camera.
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe, on the other hand, comes with the latest Snapdragon 820 Processor with clocking speeds of 2.4GHz with the first of its kind 14nm FinFET LPP technology and Adreno 530 GPU. It is coupled with 6GB of RAM and is available in different variants 64-256GB internal storage options. It sports a 23MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS, laser/phase detection Autofocus and dual-LED flash. It comes with a 1.2,6″ sensor size having 1 µm pixel size capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps.It comes with an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Both devices come with TriTech auto-focus technology which lets you focus at any distance and lighting clarity in just 0.03 seconds. It runs on Android 6.0.1 OS out of the box with the latest ZenUI 3 on top. The ZenUI 3.0 on the new phones have a newer experience and they don’t have any bloatware now, expect for the essential apps.
The Zenfone 3 runs on the latest ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both the smartphones sport a Fingerprint sensor on the back of the device in place of the volume rockers which was seen in the earlier model. It is said to recognize 5 fingerprints and 360-degree recognition is available, multiple apps integration is also possible. Asus says that the device will be unlocked in as low as 0.2 seconds with the Fingerprint sensor which is quite fast. The Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe come with a 3000mAh battery supporting Quick charge 3.0 technology which is said to charge upto 60% in just 40 minutes. The 5.2-inch variant of the Zenfone 3 comes with a 2680mAh battery. Both the devices come with Type-C port and connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS, NFC and Infrared sensor as well. The company has also launched a secial edition variant of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
The bigger Zenfone 3 Ultra sports a 6.8-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 324 ppi pixel density and a screen to body ratio of 72.8%. It comes with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC with 4GB RAM and storage variants of 64GB, 128GB expandable up to 256GB using microSD card. It comes with the same camera set up as the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. It comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with ZenUI 3.0 on top. The Zenfone Ultra comes with a 4600mAh Li-Ion battery.
The Zenfone 3 Laser sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display coupled with Octa-core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 SoC and 4GB of RAM along with 32GB internal storage. The device comes with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LEd flash having a 1/2″ sensor along with an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Asus Zenfone 3 will be exclusively available on Snapdeal from 5pm today and will be available in two variants starting from Rs. 21,999 for the base variant and the higher end variant is priced at Rs. 27999. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is priced at Rs. 49999 while the Zenfone 3 Deluxe special edition is priced at Rs. 62999. ZenFone 3 Ultra is priced at Rs. 49999 and the Zenfone 3 Laser is priced at Rs. 18,999.
