Alcatel has announced two new smartphones ahead of the MWC 2016, the Onetouch Idol 4 and Idol 4S both of which come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the OS. The devices come with different specifications with the Idol 4s being the larger of the two at 5.5-inch and the Idol 4 sporting a 5.2-inch display.
The Idol 4 sports a 5.2-inch IPS LTPS HD display with resolution of 1080p. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor having four cores at 1.7GHz + four cores at 1.2GHz coupled with 2GB and 3GB RAM options and 16GB in built memory which can be further expanded up to 512GB using microSD card.

The Alcatel Idol 4 sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, EIS and an 8MP front facing camera with 84-degree wide viewing angle along with front facing flash. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. The device is powere dby a 2610mAh battery and comes with Nano SIM option along with connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, Micro USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.2.

The most interesting aspect of the device is the box in which it comes packed. The box can be used as a full-size VR headset which is pretty impressive by Alcatel, check out the complete package in the image below.
Alcatel Idol 4S is the larger and better equipped device of the two having a bigger 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution having 180 degree wide viewing angle. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm snapdragon 652 processor having four cores at 1.8GHz + four cores at 1.4GHz and Adreno 510 GPU. The device is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded further using microSD card up to 512GB.
The device comes with a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash along with EIS and an 8MP front facing camera with 84-degree wide viewing angle and a front facing flash similar to the Idol 4. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It comes with similar connetivity features as the Idol 4. Both the devices will be showcased at MWC 2016 at Barcelona.
