YU the subsidiary of Micromax is getting ready to launch their latest smartphone, and the company is showing it off as a flagship killer and with the tag “the most powerful phone ever” it surely is going to make some news. The smartphone which is being called as Yutopia is code named as ‘Project Achilles’. There were rumors during the launch of YU Yuniqe about a powerful flagship killer and even the Benchmarks results were seen earlier this month.
Making the new authentic, YU founder, Rahul Sharma, tweeted “After the minion monster Yunique can’t wait to present the Real Beast. Let the countdown begin” from his twitter account. The earlier device which was leaked via benchmark results was named YU 5050.
Although there is no credible source for the specifications, it is being called as a ‘real flagship killer’ which indirectly targets the OnePlus 2. According to a source as said to bgr.in “This would be a no-compromise smartphone, with the best specifications and the highest benchmark rating”. The rumored specifications according to the leaked benchmark results suggest a 5.2-inch 2K display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor supported by 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space. There is said to be another variant as well with a 3GB RAM and FullHD or 1080p display. It sports a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front facing camera.
The above Rs. 10,000 segment is a new area which has not been explored by YU till now, with four of its devices Yuphoria, Yureka, Yureka Plus and YU Yunique all being under Rs. 10000 range. With the tag of a Flagship and touting the competition with the tag line of ‘the most powerful smartphone’ it will be taking on not just the likes of OnePlus with its OnePlus 2, Xiaomi with its recent announcement of Mi 4c but bigger brands as well like Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG all of which have well to do flagship devices to their name.
The YU Yutopia is said to be scheduled for a Diwali launch which will be next month, with the hint by Rahul, YU founder we can expect some genuine leaks about the specifications about the company’s first Flagship device.
