Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo, has announced a new smartphone today, Vivo Y83, in China. The new smartphone comes with a notch design on the front and is the first device to be powered by the latest Helio P22 chipset. The Charm Red variant of the Y83 looks strikingly similar to the Oppo F7.
The Vivo Y83 sports a 6.22 inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The phone is powered by aforementioned Helio P22 chipset from Mediatek, paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU which was designed by Imagination Technologies. It comes with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
For the cameras, the Y83 comes with a single 13 MP rear shooter with a F/2.2 lens on top and an LED flash. To the front, there’s an 8 MP selfie camera which has a similar F/2.2 aperture as the rear camera. The camera comes with AI beauty features, while the maximum output resolution of a video is limited to 1080p.
The Y83 comes with a 3260 mAh battery. The phone lacks a fingerprint scanner, but does come with face unlock. For connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac dual band Wi-Fi, GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microUSB port. The phone is 7.7 mm thick and weighs around 150 gms.

Vivo Y83 looks balanced if vivo offered dual rear camera setup as well apart there is good combination of hardware & software while it’s Interesting to see how powerful Helip P23 is.
