Vivo is on a swing with its marketing strategy and having a lot in the marketing budget in India, the company has now invested in sponsoring the Pro Kabaddi league for the next five years. The signing of the deal happened today with the official announcement which states that Vivo will be the title sponsor of the Pro Kabaddi league for the next five years.
The company has already been a title sponsor for one of the biggest cricket leagues, the Indian Premier League. The new TV channel on the news segment, Republic, also has the company as the official sponsor and that is not the only way the company is marketing itself with a limited number of phones that are helping it reach the top 3 positions in the Indian smartphone market.
According to our sources, the IIFA awards 2017 will have Vivo as the “powered-by” sponsor. This will be after LeEco who had bagged the deal for the awards last year. The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards are going to be held this year in New York and it is one of the most glamorous events of Bollywood.
Though the official details of the deal are not available yet, we hope to see that soon but the news is almost confirmed as it comes from someone who has been on the marketing side of one of the brands.
Interestingly, the deals set with distributors and the marketing done by the brand is paying off and the company was the third best in Q1 of 2017, only behind Samsung and Xiaomi, according to Canalys.
