Each day as we get closer to MWC, we see new phone launches and new leaks from several manufacturers, the latest among these are the leak of the Sony Xperia XZZ2 and the XZ2 Compact, press images of which have surfaced the web recently.
@evleaks recently posted the press images of the Sony flagship ahead of its launch and the images confirm the presence of wireless charging in the device. The design has been changed to the modern 18:9 aspect ratio to get rid of the chunky top and bottom bezels which are now replaced by much smaller bezels. The Xperia XZ2 and the XZ2 Compact sport a 5.7-inch and 5-inch display respectively and both of them have the FHD+ resolution and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The devices run on the latest Android Oreo 8.0 software with Sony’s custom skin on it. The device comes with 3D glass on both sides of the aluminum frame and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to prevent them from scratches and shattering. The camera on the device is a 19-megapixel f/1.8 camera with support for 4K HDR recording and super-slow-motion recording in FullHD.
The fingerprint sensor has been shifted from the power button on the side to the rear panel of the device similar to the Xperia XA2 and XA2 ultra that was showcased at the CES> The devices come with stereo front speakers and the XZ2 also comes with haptic feedback system that syncs the vibration on the device to the vibrations of the sound for a better feedback. The XZ2 from Sony comes with a 3180mAh battery while the XZ2 compact comes with a smaller 2870mAh battery. Sony has scheduled an event at MWC on the 26th of March and we expect to see rest of the details of the pricing and availability at the launch.
