Samsung washing machines exploding due to manufacturing defect [Report]

After the Note 7 disaster, Samsung has come across another trouble. This time, the company’s washing machines are reportedly exploding due to some manufacturing defect. The South Korean giant is facing a class action lawsuit in the US due to this grave issue. Samsung has acknowledged the problem and put up a statutory warning notice along with a way to check if a machine is affected or not.

Only top loading washing machines manufactured during the period if March 2011 and April 2016 pose the risk of an accident. The cause of the problem is a faulty support rod which is separating the water tubs. This may damage active electrical components and wires inside the appliance, eventually triggering a short circuit with the potential of causing a small explosion. Mentioning this, Samsung said, “Affected units may experience abnormal vibrations that could pose a risk of personal injury or property damage when washing bedding, bulky or water-resistant items.”

The company has officially admitted the problem and published an online page where you can enter the serial number of your washing machine and know if it belongs to the faulty lot. If you find out that you own a defective one, you should be extra careful while using the appliance. The South Korean brand suggests that it is fine if you wash limited amount of cloth at lower speeds for a short duration. However, Samsung has clearly mentioned that its front loading washing machines are completely safe.

The company has formally said that it is jointly discussing the issue with the Consumer Product Safety Commission of the Federal government and will soon come up with a solution. Till then, you should use the affected washing machines with utmost care. Samsung will announce a resolution to the problem shortly on its website. Let’s, see if the brand commissions another major recall just like it did for its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones.

  1. im not buying any phones with non-removeable batteries!! I will go without a phone and never buy one again . That would b described as an $800 disposable phone. No f****** way. And you idiots who think its a step in the right direction are f******* flawed. If i want a disposable phone, I can go to Walmart and buy one of those for $39! Its a scam and and a fraudulent way for these f******* companies to pay their CEO’s million dollar bonus’s and make things that are not green, which is disposable things. Things that last and you don’t have to replace them are green not these disposable items and appliances in s*** that we buy that do not work long. Why should we support that shit?! If you have disposable income and can afford $800 every time a battery goes bad then hop to it but most people can’t afford that or live like that. Same thing with laptops who the f*** is going to buy a laptop with a disposable battery? I don’t even want to spend $800 on a laptop, why the f*** would I want to spend $800 on a f****** phone where the battery may go bad in 6 months? There is something wrong with this generation in many aspects. Why would I want to pay for that shit, period? Samsung is f***** in the head and so are these other companies. I don’t have disposable income and can’t afford a new phone every year and if you have disposable income or make 200k/yr maybe you could afford that, but still, why would anybody with any Common Sense want to spend $800 every time a battery goes bad for anything?? Usually people or companies with a lot of money have no common sense so they will do these kind of things. That spells Trump also. Just because you have a lot of money doesn’t mean you have any common sense or brains!!
